The Department of Chemistry at Lehigh University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. This is a one-year appointment beginning August 15, 2026. Renewal and potential transition to the Teaching Professor track are possible, contingent on departmental need, institutional approval, and satisfactory performance.
The primary responsibility is teaching Organic Chemistry I (CHM 110) and Organic Chemistry II (CHM 112), core undergraduate courses with large, multi-major enrollments. The individual appointed may also support additional undergraduate instruction and other pedagogical activities as departmental needs evolve. Additional responsibilities may include course coordination, curricular development, collaboration with faculty and staff, and participation in departmental, college, and university service as appropriate. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, including effective and inclusive instruction in large-enrollment Organic Chemistry courses, strong course organization, and a commitment to student learning and success.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field by the start date and should demonstrate a strong record of, or clear potential for, excellence in undergraduate teaching, particularly in large-enrollment instructional settings.
